Intern in the U.S.

Train in the USA through the J-1 Intern & Trainee Program in Education.

Program details

What's involved?

The J-1 Intern and Trainee Program in Education gives early-career educators and education graduates the chance to gain hands-on classroom experience in U.S. schools.

You’ll spend an academic year working in supportive, structured roles, learning how American schools operate while building practical classroom skills alongside experienced teachers.

It’s an immersive way to learn on the job, grow in confidence, and experience education in a new setting, while making a meaningful contribution to the school community.

Who is it for?

This program is ideal if you’re not yet ready for a lead teaching role but want to strengthen your classroom confidence and continue your professional development.

Interns and trainees typically work at least 32 hours a week in roles such as instructional aide, paraprofessional, or classroom support, learning through observation, training, and guided practice.

It’s a supported pathway into U.S. education for educators at the start of their international journey, helping you build experience that supports your next career step.
